A black and white catalogue of architectural drawings of Russian dachas, originally published in 1917 in St Petersburg by Vladimir Story, and forward by HRH The Prince of Wales. This fine, black and white catalogue, originally published in 1917 in St Petersburg contains over 40 large pages carrying detailed architectural drawings of specifically ‘modern’ design. The buildings are mostly domestic homes and of wooden construction – at a period when the word ‘modern’ effectively meant ‘Art Nouveau’ in Russia. These ‘dachas’ were intended as both summer houses, but also inhabitable during the hard Russian winters.’
